Call for candidates for the BVS-ABR Executive Committee

November 2, 2026

BVS-ABR members who are interested in taking up a position on the BVS-ABR board are cordially invited to submit their candidacy.

You are familiar with the Belgian Society for Radiation Protection as a scientific society dedicated to the protection against ionising radiation, whose aim is to promote the dissemination of knowledge and the further scientific, ethical and organisational development of radiation protection.

To this end, the Society undertakes initiatives, primarily in the form of meetings and publications, to:

• Provide its members with objective and high-quality information on all aspects of protection against ionising radiation;

• Contribute to the knowledge of radiation protection amongst all interested individuals and organisations;

• Promote the further development of radiation protection by bringing together various scientific disciplines and by maintaining contacts at national and international level;

• Provide independent advice on various aspects of radiation protection.

The organisation of these activities is entrusted to a governing body (the Board), which consists of voluntary, appointed members of the Association.

The Board establishes the programme of the Association’s activities and monitors its implementation.

In doing so, it ensures the transparent operation of the Association on the basis of impartial scientific rigour and integrity, in accordance with the code of ethics for the performance of duties in radiation protection, and monitors compliance with it.
The Board meets 7 to 10 times a year. See the website for the current composition of the Board.

Are you interested in actively contributing to the running, objectives and further development of the Association?
