Sign up for the free webinar organised by the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada with their guest\, Tara Hargreaves\, MSc\, CRPA(R)\, President of the Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CRPA). Learn about the role of the Radiation Safety Officer versus X-Ray Safety Officer\, and where fields like medical physics and health physics fit in. Included will be an overview of various careers with a major radiation protection component. Tara will explain Canada’s radiation protection association and professional designation\, point to resources on the CRPA’s website for those seeking educational programs\, and introduce a new joint CRPA/RSIC scholarship. A Q&A will be held as time permits. \nFollowing this\, enjoy a wellness break with a beginner Tai Chi session led by Charlmane Wong from Ji Hong Tai Chi and Qi Gong Richmond Hill. \nParticipants will receive a letter of attendance outlining the topics covered and total session length. Its recommendations and guidance are widely used by regulators\, including the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). Jack Valentin served as the ICRP’s Scientific Secretary from 1997 to 2008. In this webinar\, he will share insights and anecdotes behind the development of the System of Radiological Protection. He will also speak to ongoing discussions and what the future might bring. He promises he will include stories of Canada’s role in global radiation protection. \nAs the webinar is part of our ongoing Radiation Safety and Wellness Webinar Series\, the final 20 minutes will be a wellness break of beginner Tai Chi with Charlmane Wong of Ji Hong Tai Chi and Qi Gong Richmond Hill. \nYou can sign up even if you cannot attend!
